Das was Wayne W. Johnson, seines Zeichens Leader, Gitarrist und Sänger der Hard Rock-Combo Caroline Blue aus Syracuse, NY, mir in Form von „Slave To The Hourglass”, zugeschickt hat, dürfte eigentlich recht genau den Musikgeschmack unseres Redaktions-Posers Steve treffen. Da dieser jedoch, was die Abarbeitung seiner Import-Besprechungen angeht, stark hinterher hinkt, habe ich mir den 5-Tracker (plus eines Hidden Tracks) mal zu Gemüte geführt. Melodic Hard Rock erheben die Jungs des Trios zu ihrem Markenzeichen und Bands wie Kiss, Mötley Crüe und frühe Judas Priest zu ihren Einflüssen. Und so ist die Musik auch gut für klassische Hard Rocker geeignet. Wer einfach mal wieder durchgehend abrocken möchte, der ist mit Caroline Blue gut bedient. Kiss – und das hört man teilweise auch deutlich heraus – sind tatsächlich eines der Idole der Musiker, während man vom dreckigen Sound der Crües doch etwas weiter entfernt ist und das Ganze eher locker angeht. Locker geht´s auch in dem Track „The Queen Of Pleasure“ zu, der von Geld, Gang-Bangs und einem Pornostar handelt, Texten also, die in diesem Genre ja des Öfteren zu finden sind. Songwriterisch gibt es keine Höhepunkte zu verzeichnen und somit ist dieser Eigenrelease tatsächlich eine erdige, melodische Hard Rock-Scheibe.
