-Wow-it’s been quite awhile since the last time CAROLINE BLUE was onstage. Time sure does fly by when you’re having fun right?
-Back in 2005 we played here when it was called Club Tundra/Tundra Tavern. Now it’s back to being what everyone in the NY area knows it by-The Lost Horizon. There’s a lot of history associated with this place and a lot of famous bands have played here thru out the years-including Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, WASP, Guns N Roses, Type O Negative, Overkill, Yngwie Malmsteen, Anthrax,Metal Church, EZO, Lita Ford, King Diamond,Cinderella and so many more. When I 1st got into music this was the 1st club I went to and I always loved playing on this stage. The scene here back in the late 80s-early 90s was very cool but I digress….
-This was one hot night. I’d forgotten how hot this place gets in the summer time. It was already a high of 90 degrees & very humid-and there’s no AC here, We arrived and got everything set up and went thru sound check. Here’s the set list for the show…
-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Dead or Alive
-Hard Life
-I’ve Seen the Light Tonight
-Mine,Mine,Mine
-Stay
-Deny
-Pain
-Too Late
-Love Me or Leave Me
-As you might have seen on the CB My Space page, we now have a new drummer! His name is Joe Boyle and this was his 1st show with us. Things went good and we got a good reaction from the crowd that was here. A few kinks here & there, but that’s to be expected whenever a show has a new member in. I have to say Joe did good and we’re glad to have him aboard.
-For me, it was alittle warm up onstage 🙂 I know a few people were thinking we were crazy for wearing leather pants when it was so hot inside. But being the troopers that we are, we did it and we survived albeit a few pounds missing 🙂 Besides, we get flack for wearing them no matter what. I’ve even been told that some people have dismiised the band without even hearing a note of our music because we wear leather pants. To each their own I guess.
-Our mix onstage was ok-I could barely hear Johnny singing. Kinda strange cause during soundcheck I could hear him fine. When I went into “Stay” my clean sound was waaaaaayy too loud-even though I’d checked it during soundcheck. Oh well.
-Overall, I’d give it a 7/10 show. We did ok-but I know with some work we can do even better. It was so cool to see some familiar faces out this night-as well as meeting some ones. Pics are now up on the CB My Space page and will soon be up on the Main CB site. I also want to thank Bryan & dXn for having us and we look forward to playing here again soon!
-Our next scheduled show is at Cleveland,NY @ The Checkpoint Tavern-a 2 hour show. Looking forward to it!
