Hi Everyone!
-Here we are-CB’s 1st trip to Buffalo,NY. We all got into Handy Andy’s Handy Van at a per-determined meeting point and off we were to Buffalo! It wasn’t a bad ride at all. Course, I was in a front seat-Joe got to stretch out with the equipment in the back, but because of the way the van was packed, he actually had more room than I did. Luckily, no one had a Taco Bell moment thru out the trip.
🙂
-A good friend of mine, Terri, had said she was going to see us play tonight-and she’s from Syracuse. She actually caught up with us and, with me in tow, went continued on our way to Buffalo. She has one of those GPS things which makes traveling soooo much easier.
-So we arrive at Buffalo and make our way to Club W. For some reason, I feel kinda partial to Club W….I don’t know why… 🙂 This is a great place. Very spacious and a nice stage. I believe they even had a bathroom attendant there! There was a parking lot next to the club so that helped too. Kinda funny-the bartender that was there when we arrived told us we could park in a lot across the street and they didn’t charge anything. He said you wouldn’t get towed, but he did get his car ripped off there once. ….After we parked next to the club, we got our gear set up and prepared for the assault.
-The show, overall, went well. It could’ve been tighter IMHO, but we did good. There weren’t a lot of people here-turns out, when we left, a few blocks down where the dance clubs were, there were people in lines outside the clubs there. A few people did get some CDs from us and these 2 women came up to us early in the set with shots & beer-a nice welcome! Just to let all you long time readers know-I still don’t drink alcohol so no, I didn’t drink the beer or the shot. I know someone who enjoyed it though. We played for about an hour of all originals-save a KISS tune for the guy who booked us here. The set list was as follows…
-Too Late
-Hard Life
-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Dead or Alive
-I’ve Seen the Light Tonight
-Won’t Be Home Tonight
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Mine,Mine,Mine
-Love Gun (KISS)
-Pain
-Deny
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Afterwards, since we had some extra tape, we did some post show interviews and stuff. Me & Terri hung out for a little bit while Andy & Joe hit the highway. We couldn’t stay too long so we only caught a few songs from the other band on the bill-The Begger’s Best-but they sounded pretty good. It’s too bad more people weren’t here tonight but those things happen. We still got to perform and had a good time.
-Me & Terri left Buffalo around 12-12:30 and I promptly fell asleep for most of the ride back! What a great guy I am huh? 🙂 Terri took literally hundreds of pics so once we get them them we’ll be posting them up. I took a quick look at most of them and there are quite a number of really great pics on here. Course, I’d expect nothing less from Terri. She’s been taking pics of me in bands that I’ve been in since 1991 (!!). I was a lot thinner back then-and had waaayyy more hair (HA!).
-Thanks for everyone who managed to make it out to the show this night. Thanks to Susie the bartender (hope my announcements got you some tips) and Alex the bathroom attendant (hope you like the CD). Thanks to those 2 girls who got us drinks-one of them got a CD too (for most our our shows, we give away a FREE CD within the 1st couple of songs in our set). I did notice that they had their eyes on Andy & Joe most of the night (Ha-Cha!). Thanks to Buffalo Joe for getting us the gig here-looking forward to playing here again in December. Thanks to Club W for having us here and for the great name 🙂 and also thanks to the Beggar’s Best for not minding that we went on 1st. And, of course, thanks to all of YOU out there for your continued support.
-We have a few weeks off and then we’re doing a show in Phoenix-a 1 hour Tribute to KISS on 10/31 in Phoenix,NY @ Schultzies. Just gotta remember how to put on the makeup again….
