  1. WWJ Show Recap

Pics of CAROLINE BLUE live @ The Gaslight Lounge in Parishville, NY on Saturday 11/14/2009.

    Hiya!

-A little late (OK-a LOT of late), but better late than never right? 🙂 This time CAROLINE BLUE had a show @ The Gaslight Lounge in Parishville, NY. We’d never been there before and really didn’t know what to expect. We initially thought it was a few hours North of Ogdensburg, but it turns out it was only around 30 minutes or so East of it, so the trip wasn’t as long as we’d anticipated.

-We started off on the road a few hours and-believe it or not-I wasn’t the reason for this-HA!. I was actually the 1st to arrive-see, miracles DO happen 🙂 It was an easy ride up to the place. I don’t really have too much to tell about the trip cause I was sleeping 1/2 the time. Both to and from the gig. With all that I do during the week, it’s one of those times when I can catch up on my sleep.

-We obviously arrived pretty early and got everything unloaded and inside. I have to say the staff at the GL were wonderful-they treated us very well. Not only did they provide us with a place to stay for the night-but we had free food & drink at the cabin AND at the bar. Our soundguy Art now believes he’s been to Heaven 🙂

-There was a group of ladies who showed up and started to get drinking early on. They couldn’t stay-but wanted to hear us do at least 1 song. As we were setting up for soundcheck, a few things went wrong so they never did get to hear us play 😦 Maybe next time. Hope they made it home ok. One of the ladies was so drunk, she had to be carried out-and it was only around 7:30!

-The bar was a little smaller than we anticipated so, with all the gear we brought, it was alittle cramped onstage but we made due. Here’s our set list for the evening

    Encore-Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)

-A good long night! We had about 40+ people here I think-not bad for our 1st time here. We did have a few technical problems here & there. For ex-we only had red light on stage for the 1st few songs & the monitors gave out at one point. Also, the noise gate in my amp wasn’t stopping the feedback fast enough cause I was a lot closer to the amp than normal. On the 1st song I forgot to drop tune the Low E-I’m gonna need a teleprompter or something 🙂

-I believe a fight broke out at some point during the night. I heard that some guy punched his girlfriend in the head or something. It was broken up quickly though.

-Also, there was about a few inches in height difference between the front of the stage and the back where the drums were. Doc tripped on that part about 5 times. At Boneshakers the ceiling is real low where the stairs are to go off stage and I almost always hit my head on it a few times. Something about the North country…:)

-We got done & packed up, got paid & went to the cabin. Those guys started partying a little bit. I didn’t tell anyone, but I was up very late the night before-I actually didn’t get to bed Friday night until around 3:30 AM (!!). Part of it was the caffeine that was in me, but I was also doing a lot of last minute stuff like making enough sampler CDs and stuff. So I didn’t sleep all that much so by the time it hit around 3:30 AM this night-my tank was right on empty. We were up for a few hours talking & joking around & stuff but I was fading so I went to one of the rooms and quickly fell asleep. And no-I didn’t partake in anything. The strongest stuff I had was some Doritoes & some Diet Pepsi. I’m a good boy 🙂

-The next day I found out the other guys were basicaly up till around 6 beofre going to bed-and here we were getting ready to leave at 10 AM. Even with a headstart on the sleep, I still slept thru most of the ride back. Wait till we start doing this more often 🙂

-On behalf of CB & crew, I’d like to give a huge thanks to the staff @ The Gaslight Lounge for their hospitality-they definately went beyond the call of duty for us & we really appreciate it. Also a huge thanks to al those who came out to see us play. We hope to be there again sometime next year.

    Next stop-Boneshakers with KISS Alive!
