  1. WWJ SHOW RECAP

    Hiya!

-It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these show recaps. Hope I’m not getting rusty. 🙂 Earlier in the month I was contacted by Donald Thatcher from Octave Match Records in Fl. A band they are representing, Traverser, was playing on 2/24 and they were asking if we could be one of the bands opening for them. After making sure I had people available I said sure. Within a week both Zadoc…& the Nightmare and Kill the Maestro were added to the bill. This night had Mark Amisano on drums and Azriel Mordecai on bass.

-Thursday night came and, overall, there were more people here than I expected. Not only was it a Thursday but also all the bands played their own material.

-Here is what we played this night

    -NOTHING WILL SATISFY YOU
    -DEAD OR ALIVE
    -MINE, MINE, MINE
    -TOO LATE
    -I’VE SEEN THE LIGHT TONIGHT
    -WON’T BE HOME TONIGHT
    -FAR AWAY FROM HOME
    -STAY
    -PAIN
    -LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME

-I think we did a good job. Out of the 2 shows this particular lineup has played, I feel this was the better one. The only mistake, basically came from me. I forgot to change the tuning on my low E string between “Dead or Alive” and “Mine, Mine, Mine.” I know it’s not the most professional thing to do, but I stopped the song so I could tune that string back up. I even had that written on my set list to tune up-and I even have a tuner pedal. Oh well,,,,,,We might even have some video footage available from the show.

-The other 3 bands did great as well. We were all hoping the Traverser guys would miss the snow storm that approaching as they had to drive back to Florida that night. And no-I wasn’t getting paid to help promo traverser’s merch during CB’s set-I wasn’t kidding when I said they needed gas money to get home (HA!)….OK, maybe just a little….It was great to share the stage w/ all 3 bands and look forward to doing so again someday in the future. I want to say thanks to both Donald & Sam for making this show happen, thanks to Az & Mark for doing a great job (and for putting up w/ me-HA!), thanks to the other 3 bands and most of all, thanks to all the people who showed up this night. It’s deeply appreciated. Keep rockin!
