-Last night, CAROLINE BLUE was one of 20 other bands who performed at the 2011 FINGERLAKES METALFEST in Clyde, NY. Joining me onstage this time we Mike Smith on drums and Johnny Sniper on bass. Pics can be seen on CAROLINE BLUE FACEBOOK PAGE. Video was taken of the show but, admittedly, the sound quality isn’t very good. Might put up some clips on You Tube anyway-keep on the look out!

WWJ SHOW RECAP
-Back in 2009 CAROLINE BLUE played at The Fingerlakes Metalfest at Donsellars in Clyde, NY. On 5/21/11-CB was there for the 2011 version. The previous one was a 2 day event-this one just on 1 day-but with 2 stages inside. Due to some cancellations, we were on earlier than scheduled, but that was OK cause we arrived in plenty of time anyways.
-For this show, CB’s line up had Mike Smith on drums for the 1st time and the return of the “Excellence in Sexcellence” (HA!) 🙂 Johnny Sniper on bass. Mike & Johnny had been in bands before so there was some chemistry going on here. We unfortunately didn’t have time for a rehearsal before the show so we just went for it. This was their 1st time to this Metalfest cause the 1st words Johnny said to me were “We’re gonna get slaughtered” 🙂 We were basically the Poison / Bon Jovi of the show-which is OK with me. IMHO it’s good to break things up a little bit.

-Overall, we did good I believe. I was using a headset mic and every time I came close to the monitors we heard feedback so I couldn’t hear the best. Unfortunately both Johnny and Mike later told me they could barely hear anyone else outside of their own playing. We managed to get thru most of the set despite this but it caught up with us on “Pain” where we experiences a “hiccup” and never recovered. Worse-although funny in hindsight-I went over to Johnny and said “Extend this”-forgetting that I had a headset mic on! And then, after all that-I couldn’t remember the 3rd verse to save my life so we just did this huge Rock ending and left it at that 🙂
-Saw some familiar faces there-the crew from The Metallic Onslaught were here and helped with my cameras-thanks guys! Thanks also to Dave H. and all who put together the Metalfest. Also a big thanks to Johnny & Mike for traveling all that way to play this show. We did talk about future shows afterwards so…time will tell…
