Hiya!
-Here we are w/ the show recap for CAROLINE BLUE’s show at Hotel Adams on Saturday 12/5/09. This being a Saturday I didn’t have to work so-although I was late-it wasn’t as bad as on a workday. We were bringing sound & lights so we got the Suburban & the U-Haul Trailer loaded up & away we went! I can’t say much about the trip because, to & from the show, I was basically sleeping the whole time! Gotta get it in when you can right?
-We arrived at Hotel Adams around 4ish. Keith-the owner-didn’t know if we were bringing sound / lights and had already contacted another company last minute, but he was able to reach them to cancel early enough. We settled in, ate dinner, and waited till dinner time was over. By that, I mean that Hotel Adams is also a diner so we had to wait till the diners were out before getting the PA set up. Unfortunately, this time is was late so we only had an hour to get everything set up & troubleshooted-which had our sound guy’s nerves in knots-especially since we were having some feedback problems. Everything was eventually ironed out within the 1st few songs.

-I already mentioned the feedback problems we had initially. Overall things went good. We did add a fog machine & 2 strobes to our show, but one of the strobes didn’t work. Although small, we had an enthusiastic crowd and we ended up getting 2 encores-with Keith (the owner) handing me a notice saying “Play more Godsmack” 🙂 This show does mark the 1st time that someone came up onstage and tried to sing one of our originals (:Deny”)-emphasis on the word “try” (HA!). It was very cool though-his name is Mike and he’s one of our biggest fans.
-Afterwards we loaded up the gear and headed home-with Joe leaving with Mike to an “unknown destination” (HA!). Here’s a classic Joe moment. About 10 minutes into the 1st break, I see Joe rushing to the men’s room but someone beat him too it. He goes-“Damm it-I’ve had to go since before the last 2 songs we did on stage!” Course, after we finished the set, did Joe rush to the men’s room? Of course not-he rushed to the bar to get another beer-classic Joe! :)As I stated before, I slept-as did 1/2 the guys-on the way back to the room and unloaded the gear. It was freezing outside. The older I get, the more I dislike winter. We finished & left and I got home and around 6 AM where I quickly fell asleep-only to be awaken 2 hours later by a really bad Cluster Headache. Wonderful huh?
-Anyway, we’d like to thank Keith & company for having us at Hotel Adams again-you guys are great! And we also want to give a HUGE thanks to all the people who came out this night to see us. We’re now playing New Year’s Eve at Hotel Adams-so we hope to see all of you-and more-that night!
